About Japundit
JAPUNDIT is a social bookmarking site that gives you an instant overview of the most popular English language articles about Japan and the other countries of East Asia. Basically, social bookmarking allows members to post links to articles or sites so others can view and evaluate them. In many ways, JAPUNDIT is similar to the popular Digg.com site.
Acceptable submissions to JAPUNDIT include blog posts, mainstream news articles, and just about anything else that has to do with JAPAN or East Asia. To submit a story to JAPUNDIT, you first need to register (for free). Check out our FAQ here for details about how to register, submit stories, vote, etc.
Joining JAPUNDIT
Becoming a member of the JAPUNDIT community is quick, easy, and free. All you need is a user name and an e-mail address. Once you become a member, you will be able to submit stories, and vote for and comment on stories submitted by other. Your e-mail address is for our membership purposes only, and we promise we will never abuse it or provide it to anyone else.
Article and Comment Posting Rules
- ADMIN reserves the right to modify or delete articles or comments without notice and totally at the discretion of ADMIN.
- Any one of the following may result in an article or comment being edited or deleted.
- Drive-by sniping (dropping in sporadically solely for the purpose of posting a comment that is judged to be intended to cast a pall on a discussion or the site, poison the mood of a discussion or the site, unnecessarily sidetrack a discussion, etc.
- Gratuitous vulgarity
- Gratuitous insult
- Complaints or comments about site policy (Address policy matters to: contact(at)japundit(dot)com)
- Complaints or comments about site content (Address content matters to: contact(at)japundit(dot)com)
- Off-topic comments
- Comments intended solely to advertise or promote another site, product, service, etc.
- Comment flooding with unrelated subject matter in a way that is judged to be placing a damper on an ongoing discussion.
- Any comment that is judged to be intended to demean the site, its content, its contributors, its policies and practices, etc.
- Any comment deemed unacceptable by ADMIN
- JAPUNDIT is a site about Japan. We and our readers do not care about your opinions or stances concerning the administration, policies, culture, customs, practices, or actions of the United States or any other country outside of East Asia, except as it applies to Japan. Comments concerning these issues are subject to editing or deletion at the discretion of ADMIN.
The above rules and policies are subject to change as required.
Site Administration
Any and all official messages concerning posting rules, administration, policies, management, and other site issues will be issued on-site by ADMIN or sent privately by ADMIN.

JAPUNDIT Bookmarklet
The bookmarklet makes it possible for you to add a site to JAPUNIDT quickly and easily. To use the bookmarklet, first right-click the following link and save it to your browser's favorites. Or you can drag the link and drop it onto your browser's bookmark toolbar.
After that, while a site you think you might like to submit to JAPUNDIT is displayed in your browser, simply select "Add to JAPUNDIT" on your browser's Favorites menu or click it on the bookmark toolbar. This will display a page for submitting the story in a new browser window. Simply fill in the required fields and click [Submit].
JAPUNDIT Widget
The JAPUNDIT widget lets you put a dynamically updated list of JAPUNDIT news headlines, like the one shown below, into the sidebar of your blog or site.
It's a great way to enhance a Japan or Asian site by providing your visitors with the latest news of Japan.
