Learn or die!

A teacher in Kagoshima, Japan is in hot water for threatening a student with a paper cutter when he did not respond quickly to a question.
The teacher asked young student what his favorite color is. When the boy hesitated, the teacher pointed a paper cutter at him and said, “I’ll slash you if you don’t answer!”
The teacher admitted to threatening the student, saying, “I did it to speed up the class.”
At least the teacher has a sense of humor.
May 10th, 2005 at 3:13 amAccording to the article, at his previous school, he threatened students with a ruler when they couldn’t answer a question.
Hmmm…this sounds like a crazy, offbeat idea, but how about just firing the guy rather than transferring him to another school? He moved up from threatening with a ruler to a paper cutter; next time he might move up again with actually going through with his threats. He should be kept away from children.

May 10th, 2005 at 10:12 amNo, he didn’t hit them, but it can still traumatize a child.
