Whopper of a price!

Whopper! The Milly La Foret located in the Rose Hotel Yokohama has a hamburger on its menu for the whopper price of 4,500 yen. . . About $45!

The SK Burger contains fine wagyu filet beef, a range chicken egg, French foie gras, mushrooms, and other fine incredients.

The website claims that the hamburger is part of the food culture of the United States, but I could never imagine any American I know shelling out $45 for a burger. . . Especially one that has an egg in the center!

The SK Burger is served with soup and coffee.

I guess thinking that monstrosity looks pretty good is a sign I’ve been over here too long. ;)

Actually, these so-called gourmet hamburgers are a a bit of the latest craze in USA, especially California.

The most expensive burger I’ve had was $30 at Smith and Wollensky. It was good burger, but I didn’t understand why it cost $30 … This was a few yrs ago, I’m assuming it’s more now

The egg in the centre burger design is quite popular here in seattle.

New York magazine reported on a $19 hot dog a while ago. It was made of Kobe beef.

For the love of God, I’d never waste Kobe beef on a freaking hot dog. Or a burger. It’s meant to be eaten as a lovely steak.

Chances are it’s made from trim rather than from an actual steak. Looks pretty darn good to me, but then I’m starving. :)
