What you get for playing with your ding-a-ling
Anyone who has lived in a big Japanese city for any time knows how annoying it is to be strolling down a sidewalk peacefully, only to have someone come up behind you on a bicycle ringing a bell to demand that you get out of the way. Why, there have been times when I thought that I really could have. . .
Well, someone finally did.
A 38-year-old bike rider was ringing people out of the way in Osaka recently when he came up behind another man that looked about 60, who was also on a bike. The bell ringing apparently upset the older man, who chased down the younger to ask him what his problem is.
After being verbally insulted by the younger man, the elder pulled a knife and slashed him on the arm before fleeing.
Now it is truly terrible that people are getting into knife fights on the street. But then again. . .
