Heartwarming

The folks at Triumph International are at it again with a new Warm Biz Bra.

Warm Biz Bra

According to a report I saw on TV, the bra and pants are designed to keep the wearer warm through the winter months as thermostats are set lower in line with Japan’s Warm Biz campaign.

The waistband of the pants folds upwards to warm the abdomen, and a warning light on the bra flashes red whenever a built-in sensor detects that ambient temperature is above the Warm Biz suggested setting of 20 degrees.

And for the particularly cold hearted woman, the Warm Biz Bra comes with gel pads that can be heated in a microwave oven and inserted into the cups for extra warmth.

Unfortunately, the TV reported that this is merely a theme product, and will not be available to the general public.

I think that pose the girl is in looks almost exactly like the pose in an earlier Japundit post for lingerie. Kinda funny. (I might be remembering incorrectly, though.)

All those weird bra things Triumph and other firms try to firm up in the public’s mind are mere PR vehicles to get some free publicity for the real business, which is selling bras. These gimmicky things here, like the warmbizz buzz, are just free ways to get free PR worldwide, because the PR people in Tokyo know that every blogger in the known universe will blog these photos, and every newspaper in the unknown universe will print the sexy photos as stand-alone shots with cute captions, and the entire thing is highway brabery!

It’s a bra bonanza!

Either the editors at the Associated Press news service have a serious breast fetish or there is some sort of bizarre bra bonanza sweeping the globe. Already this morning, there have been three lingerie-centric stories on the news wires; one of those stories — about plush global-warming-fighting undergarments from Japan — has already been reported on in Broadsheet.

Now this: From China comes a hard-hitting report announcing Hong Kong’s Polytechnic University new degree in “bra studies.” What work awaits China’s underwear engineers? According to the AP, Top Form, China’s biggest lingerie manufacturer, employs a crack team of bra-smiths who push the cutting edge of tit-padding technology. The Wall Street Journal reports that in their quest to “give busts a boost,” Top Form has tried pumping pads with air — but met disappointment when the bras deflated like old balloons. Then the company’s oil-filled pads proved prohibitively expensive and bulky. Now they’re betting on fiberfill, a fluffy insulating material usually used in ski clothes — and not something you’d normally find in Victoria’s Secret products.

Back in the U.S., a woman has been accused of using bra padding not to enhance her décolletage, but to commit a crime. The AP reports that Jill Knispel, a 35-year-old from Florida, was arrested after stuffing her bra with a stolen parrot she hoped to trade for a 1964 vintage Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. “The circumstances of [this] case are the most bizarre I’ve ever encountered,” veteran wildlife investigator Lenny Barshinger told reporters. Funny, sounds like a classic case of grand-theft Audubon to us.

as for cool/warm biz the japanese need to rethink their modern homes and offices which are sweltering in summer and freezing in winter. Of course that could also be said of many modern buildings around the world but many Japanese apartments are poorly insulated.
