A policeman in Yamagata Prefecture has been forced to quit the force after it was revealed he was dating the wife of an arrested man.

The police department said that the police sergeant become acquainted with the woman when he questioned her following the arrest of her husband, and dated her for more than six months.

The cop had sexual relations with the woman at various hotels, and even fondled her while she was at the police station.

The illicit relationship came to light when the man who was arrested lodged a complaint with the police after learning about it from his spouse. The man’s wife also filed a complaint with the police, claiming that the sergeant forced himself on her.
