A creative and savvy Internet guy in the UK came up with a simple yet stunning concept to fund his college career, and he made over a million dollars from it so far.
Wonder if anyone in Japan has done this yet?

Yep, Crisscross (the people behind Japan Today, Metropolis magazine etc). Unfortunately, their page hasn’t been quite as successful as the original …

Did u notice one of the pixel ads is for JAPAN’S SEXIEST……looks like a dating service.
No pixels but maybe a million dollars
Thought you might find this interesting. Check out:

Inspired by MillionDollarHomepage.com but has nothing to do with pixels.
If you have the time, check it out and let me know what you think.
Toufic, good idea. Won’t work.
Well if it’s a good idea, do you have any good idea of how it might work?
None whatsoever, i think that UK just got lucky in the luck of the draw. i think if i had started with his idea, nothing would have happened, because i am never lucky. it’s all luck, and WHO you know. WHO do you know?
I don’t know anyone. Guess I got a little over excited about the whole thing. The million dollar tag I put is just to try to hype it up a little and maybe stir some interest. If anyone has a better idea, I’d be glad to hear about it. Maybe we can partner up or something.
You are thinking right. But the problem is in putting the thoughts into action and making money from it. Near impossible. This bloke in UK got very lucky, a harmonic convergence that only happens once every ten years or so. WE should be so lucky!
But most of us aren’t.
But go for it, and never take no for an answer. That’s the first step. But the lords of Fate are running this show, and all the money in the world can’t buy them.
Just keep “thinking” until it all works out to your satisfaction.
OR……if this doesn’t pan out, think of a NEW IDEA later.
Just keep staying alive! YES YES YES
Thanks man. That’s the spirit. I’ll let you know if I get lucky
You do that. I mean, do let us know when you get lucky. Sooner or later, you will. It happens to those who never give up. Trite as that sounds, it’s true.
But this idea of yours, above, I don’t see a future for it. But the mind that spawned the idea, I see a big future for that mind of yours. Keep the home fires burning.
Life is WON.DER.FULL
Nice words ur saying. Hearing things like that fuels the fire even more.
yes, Toufic, add FUEL to the fire every day, and make that your mantra…

Toufic, try this link instead! Sorry. forgot the period dot
Sometimes it feels like a constant battle to be that child. But that same battle is what keeps us going maybe. This poem came at the right time.
I’ve been thinking about more scenarios surrounding the pay to vote idea. The domain names have no real value, but I think raising money from votes can work in some type of scenario. What really sparked the idea is my open source website project. The whole MillionDollarHomepage story just got me a little sidetracked to try to raise some money for my project, but it’s also sparking new ideas.
Yes, the constant battle to remember what it was once like to see the world through the eyes of a child is exactly what we need to keep us going. Hard as the slogging path might be.
Spark on! Keep sparking and sparking, and sidetracks are good for new insights and ideas. Fuel for the home fires, and let the sparks glow!

The FBI is investigating the hijacking of milliondollarhomepage.com - the website that earned $1m (£566,000) for its British creator Alex Tew by hosting micro-advertisements - by hackers who demanded a ransom to restore the site.

Mr Tew was sent a demand for $50,000 by e-mail by a hacker, believed to be Russian. When he refused, the website crashed.
The e-mail, which was made available exclusively to the Financial Times, read: “Hello u website is under us atack to stop the DDoS send us 50000$.”
Graham Cluley, a senior technology consultant, said: “DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack is a common way to block internet users accessing a site by flooding the website with traffic.
