iPod heaven!

Man, I finally decided to get myself an iPod nano yesterday, and I can’t believe how I managed to go through life until now without one of those babies.

I don’t know, I guess I kept putting off buying one because I assumed I was too busy to listen to music, while not at home or in my car, that is. How naive of me! While listening to music, it seems I do everything better: I work better, and shopping is so much more fun.

Hell, yesterday after I finished charging the battery for the first time, I decided to listen to music while I was cleaning up my apartment, and before I knew it, two and a half hours had past, and I had accomplished more than I had in the last 2 weeks!

That little piece of heaven I’m carrying around in my pocket is worth much more than the two hundred bucks I paid for it!

I’m in iPod heaven. . .

I am so tired of the ipod X.X there are mp3 players that are also cheaper, more storage space, smaller and have more functionality. The ipod simply became ‘cool’ so everyone had to buy one.
I suppose it does have the itunes service but personally i like actually buying an album and having something physical there. Not simply buying a download.

Actually, I’ve been loading my new iPod with lots of tunes from CD’s I already own, which is the beauty of it. With iTunes, you can either download music from the net or upload music you already own to your iPod. I also like CDs, but they’re not very convenient considering you’d have to carry a box around with your portable CD player. Bottom line is, I didn’t buy it for the name, but for what it is. Cheers!

Sylvian, spoken like a true convert. Only you are five years too late, the and Walkman felt the same way to people way back then. Post again in a few months when you get bored with your iPod and tell us why it suddenly became so boring.

No worries. There’ll be more Stuff to buy in a few months. More!

So you bought an Ipod despite the fact the only advantage it has being Itunes you aren’t using?
When did the world go crazy?!

    Great pic, Sylvain.

As for all the naysayers, you saw something you wanted, you bought it, and now you are enjoying it.

    That’s all that counts

Listen, guys, I bought it not because it was an “iPOD”, not because it’s using “iTUNES”, not because I don’t like CDs, not because I never had a walkman before. I bought it because I wanted a portable MP3 player, and I simply liked the size, shape and color of the nano, and I liked the experience of having tons of music at my disposition, right there in my pocket. As for it becoming boring, unless they invent an media chip to implant into your brains, I don’t think I’ll ever get bored. As Diamond Back said, I’m enjoying it, and if you don’t like it, that’s your problem… Cheers!

I’m happy with my little Taiwanese Mp3 player/ flash drive. Got it one year ago, smaller than ipod nano, recharge directly from USB, can record through mic, listen to radio and record radio directly. Storage isn’t as large as an ipod, but it was cheap and suits me fine for the moment.

By the way, this article has absolutely nothing to do with Japan….. or anything really.

That’s a bit mean-spirited, Tan-tan. Sylvain’s one of the crew, and look how happy he is!

Err… If this article has nothing to do with anything, why are you getting so incensed about it.

Since I have the final say about what is and what is not suitable for Japundit, I say that this article is appropriate, because it is a pretty cool report about the experience of a Japudit contributor who is living in Japan. And I really liked the photo!

I would also like to point out that it was I who approached Sylvain (not the other way around) with a suggestion that we run this article here.

If there are those among our readers who think they would like to become part of the decision making process about what subject matter is appropriate for Japundit, we would be more than happy to make you an editor so you can share some of our workload. Or you can take a financial stake in Japundit and help us pay for some of our considerable overhead, in return for which we will give you a proportional say in how Japundit is being run.

If neither of these options appeals to you, may we suggest lightening up just a tad?

I knew I should’ve gone for the  or the .

oh, you’re all dumb. the ipod nano kicks ass, and is more stylish, reliable, and user friendly than anything else. the picture slideshow is sweet too. everyone stop whining and pretending to be material anarchists. it’s retarded

Who cares? How is this relevant?

    Alex on January 19th, 2006

I have had other MP3 players including a Samsug and the iPod has a better build quility, its more stylish and has better controls then most of the other players. I really can’t stand Apple products with a passion but I had to suck it up and get the better product.

As far as having a physical cd its the opposite for me. Cds take up too much space for the small amount of data they hold. That becomes a big deal when you have a library of over 20gb. I also hook my iPod up to my car stereo so no need for cds there either.

No this IS relevant. Apple is the direct competitor to Microsoft, at least in OS’s, and we hate Microsoft since it’s being so accommodating now in helping squash down the pro-democracy movement in China.

And stop ripping on the iPod.. it’s good looking, sturdy, easy to use and does it’s job well - why does everybody have to start harpin on something just because it’s popular, I swear.. Lay off.

i forgot to add… my iPod fell out of my bag and was left in the rain for an hour on one occasion, and later that year fell into lake michigan while i was jogging on the beach. and guess what.. works like a charm ; )

Come on! Stop hating on the iPod and just enjoy. Besides, whatever device you got is right for you. I use mine as an music player and back up harddrive. Nothing like the J-pop then Country then Van Halen.
