A Social Democratic Party (SDP) member and member of the Municipal Assembly in Beppu, Kyushu was not allowed to board a flight at
Seoul airport because he was too drunk.
The 58-year-old politician was in transit as part of a group on a tour to visit Rotura, New Zealand, sister city of Beppu. During the flight from Kyushu to Seoul, he got so drunk that he “stained his seat” and had to be taken from the aircraft in a wheelchair.
The other members of the group continued with the tour, but the drunken assemblyman returned to Japan.
One member of the group claimed that the politician was already drunk before they got on the plan in Kyushu.
Someone’s got the GLOW! (Or less commonly, acetaldehyde dehydrogenase deficiency)
