It appears that what they did was go to some film internet site, search for the title of the movie and then run a bad review from say, Rotten Tomatoes website, funny yes, and who cares, they can’t read English in China anyway, it’s just decoration on the DVD cake. But priceless. Good find, whoever found it.

Yup, anon above, you are right: they took this reader viewer comment from Dark Vulvan and put it on the DVD, I wonder if HE knows?

Guess Who, should be renamed Guess What, This Is A Really Lame Movie., 5 April 2005

Author: DarkVulcan29 (DarkVulcan29@aol.com) from United States

Or Guess What Could Be Career Sucide For Ashton Kuthcer. It is clear that he cannot act, he is just a personality, he is not famous for his acting, It is his presence in the film. But his performance in this film was about has annoying as his performance in Cheaper By The Dozen. And the women seem to get immense pleasure making a fool out of the Bernie Mac character, even Judith Scott, the woman playing his wife in the film. And now I wished Queen Latifah would have come out, and kicked all there butts. I feel bad for Bernie Mac, he really is the only who is funny, but his effort comes up short, as the story just get really lame has it goes on. I can’t really comment on Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner, cause I didn’t see it. But I’m sure it was a better film, then this remake/spoof. This movie was about as annoying as Paris Hilton. I’d probably go crazy if had to sit through this movie again.

Was the above comment useful to you?

Lol thats brilliant. Its an actual honest review of the movie =D. All movies should have that ^_^ then maybe there wouldn’t be some many awful movies doing well.

I agree with Tom - this sort of honesty is only to be applauded! Would’ve saved me a lot of money in the long run.

This ISN’T a photoshop job, trust me. A real bootleg I personally purchased in China. I’ll try to send a digital photo (instead of a scan) to JP later on today.

Yeah. I guess so. And it I guess it also may have been the unholy spawn of an aardvark mating with a zebra.

Someone HAS to leak this to the US press! They would have a field day!!!

After I found the bad review on a google search, [see anon 1 and anon2, second and third posts above, I sent the link to boingboing.net and the new york times internet reporter. Maybe the US press will pick up on this on Monday or Tuesday, their time. But even if they don’t, thanks to supermanchu who found it, and JP for running with it, this has become international news via japundit.com

Good eye, supermanchu and great post, JP!

I just noticed that the credits on the bottom are wrong too. They are from “Big Fish”.

They regularly print credits to a different film. I think there is a reason for it.

The front cover, though, is usually accurate. Though I did get Lord of the Rings once early on and it was a hideous b-movie about the Middlle Ages.

There’s a wonderful group on Flickr.com with equally hilarious bootleg DVD covers, which has gotten attention a number of times on BoingBoing:
