Japanese on the move

Though Japan seems at times to be terrified of foreigners, Japanese don’t seem to mind living as foreigners themselves.

Japan’s Foreign Ministry has announced that the number of Japanese people living abroad has passed the 1 million mark for the first time.

The most popular county for Japanese people to live is the United States (351,668), followed by China (114,899), Brazil (65,942), and the U.K. (65,942). The high number of Japanese living in China is said to be mostly due to the large number of Japanese companies operating there.

    Well, let’s compare salarymen lifestyles.

Japan- Cramped concrete, poorly insulated “mansion.”
China- 150 sq meter flat with a panoramic view, a 24 hr. doorman, a cook, a cleaning lady and private tennis courts.

Japan- An overbearing boss, and insidious office politics. The OLs won’t look twice at you.
China- You are the boss. The prettiest OL is shagging you.

Japan: Bento or cheap curry rice for lunch. Drinks with customers, and the hostess always see you to the door. Thay have more important customers to pander to.
China: Expansive lunch and dinner. At drinks afterwards, you are a valued customer, and you are the king of flesh. The hostesses chew your strawberries for you, and feed you like a baby bird.

    Japan: A cramped commuter train.
    China: A car and driver.

But, of course, they are only there for the work:wink:

Imagine the horror when they hear “Great job, Yamada-san. Now you can come back to Tokyo and resume civilized life!”
