McDonald’s Girl

As you know, there are over 3,457 McDonald’s restaurants up and down the Japanese archipelago, not to mention another 27,345 around the world, and there surely should be a song to memorialize the people who eat, drink, study, chat and sleep at these shops. Well, musician Dean Friedman has done just that, written and recorded an iconic song about a certain “McDonald’s Girl” and you can give it a listen here.

The lyrics to “(I am in love with) the McDonald’s Girl”, in part, go like this:

I am in love with the McDonald’s Girl
She has the smile of innocence oh so tender and warm.
I am in love with the McDonald’s Girl
She is an angel in a polyester uniform

I leave from kendo practice every night
It’s getting dark but the golden arches light up the way.
I turn the corner at the traffic light.
I count my money and then I rehearse what I’m gonna say,
“I’d like an order of fries, a quarter pounder with cheese,
I love the light in your eyes. Will you go out with me please?”
