Astro Research of Japan has announced that it will be offering marketing world’s personal satellite for $860,000. The purchase price includes the 44-pound MySat-1, as well as launch and operation, and even a field trip to the launch site.

Officials at Astro Research say the solar-powered satellite can be launched within a year and a half after an order is placed. On the other hand conventional satellites take as many as three to five years for launch after an order is placed.

The satellite also can be customized to meet particular needs and fitted with buyer-specified instruments.
