Fuji Photo Film Company has announced new products that will take the company out of the fast fading film business and into the health and beauty business. Recently, the company unveiled a new series of skincare products and dietary supplements, in a bid to “target women’s insatiable desire for beauty products.”
“The company has decided to enter the health care market, which can be said to be the largest industry of the 21st century, which supports people’s peace of mind, safety and health,” Fuji Photo Film president Shigetaka Komori said Tuesday.
Other Japanese companies are also jumping the film camera ship. Konica Minolta has shifted its focus to optics and medical imaging products, while Nikon is concentrating its efforts on digital technology.

Fuji Photo Film is planning to market its new products on the web.
Fuji Photo Film will start selling the new products on the Internet and through mail order, eying profits of three billion yen (25.5 million dollars) by March 2007, the company said.
