All the news about North Korea these days paints a picture of a NORK military that is a steely-eyed, cold-blooded killing machine. But surfing around the Web for a while has got me wondering just which are the real faces of the NORK military. . . The ones on the left, or the ones on the right?

Wow, those are great images for the NORK army. I assume that even a starving army can fight well. The only problem is no matter how hard you try, you just cant fight the world and win.

October 20th, 2006 at 10:49 amWhat I wonder — and I have never been in any military — is why do Communist nations put so much emphasis on how well soldiers can walk in perfect unison? Does this come in handy in a battle?
October 20th, 2006 at 3:49 pmOh, and continuing on this “in unison” thing: I notice that a few of those male soldiers are marching out of step. Do they lose their ration of tree bark the day if discovered?
October 20th, 2006 at 3:51 pmYou know Kudan, that is a REALLY good question. I looked around for an answer to that and the only mention I could find in my books were that communist armies are the peoples armies. And so it is important that in parade they walk side by side and in perfect unison because it is a reflect of the nations people who are ONE in working for the greater good. The communists, according to my book on the NORK, believe that togetherness and ONE-ness makes the perfect nation. Not sure if thats a full answer but… Thats all I could find.
October 20th, 2006 at 10:00 pmHey, maybe they’ll die in unison, though some of those gals don’t look too bad…
October 21st, 2006 at 6:42 amalexpappas: wow, thanks for that answer. It’s one of those things that makes perfect sense once you hear (read) it.
But I’m still interested in what happens to the poor schmucks who march out of step. It’s gotta hurt to lose your day’s ration of tree bark…
