A new euphemism for “pay up”?

International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge told Tokyo that in order to win its bid to host the 2016 Olympic Games, the city must win the heart of those in charge of the selection process.

“This is a matter of heart, not a matter of mind. It is exciting to fall in love with a woman. It is exactly the same.”

Doesn’t romancing a woman involve wining, dining and expensive gifts?

I’m sure they’d do a lovely Olympics, but it’s a waste of money, and here’s why: With the Olympics in Beijing in 2008, and Pyeongchang a strong favorite for the Winter Games in 2014 (assuming Dictator Kim keeps his nukes quiet), there’s a snowball’s chance in the marathon that Asia will get anything in 2016. However a strong bid could position Japan for something in the 2020’s.
