Hot seat

Check out this USB seat warmer from Thanko, the Japanese company that specializes in creating zany peripherals.

Seat warmer

Simply plug into your computer’s USB port and soon a toasty tushy will be all yours.

But I have to confess that when I first saw the image accompanying this story, it got me thinking. . . If they can get power to go from a computer to the cushion, couldn’t they get power to go from the cushion to the computer?

Just think of the pootential. . .Energy savings would be gastronomical!

In fact, according to the charming and delightful Ms. JP, I probably could meet the total power needs of medium-size town on my own.

Did she mean thermal power or gas?

Something a bit “fishy” about JP’s writing today.

[…] To finish with, here is some USB madness. First up, we have the humping dog USB key. Pointless!! Next, we have the USB Seat warmer. Now this is just sheer stupidity!! OK, we have a computer, which is powered by electricity from the mains. So, instead of plugging in a seat warmer from the mains, we are going to make it inefficient and power it from the USB port instead. OK, I guess it means you can use your laptop with a seat warmer in a place with no mains supply, but your battery life is going to be pretty s**t if you do. […]
