Whenever I look at this picture, I rememver everything America stands for (sniff), and I can’t help but place my hand over my heart and humming the national anthem. God Bless America.
Anybody know how Letter From Iwo Jima is doing over in Japan? I heard it opened on the 15th there..
Flags of Our Fathers bombed over here in the U.S. as well, so much so, that the studio pushed Letters up to a December release (was in February) for a shot at the 2007 Oscars.
It only flopped because of the absolutely non patriotic terrorist sympathizers that currently inhabit these united states. While you look at this picture, just think long and hard about the sacrifices our grandfathers made pushing out the thousands of Japanese out of mount Surabachi to get to the summit and plant their flag in this piece of the Japanese homeland. They were truly heroes:wink:
Flags is a great film. I’m Canadian so perhaps I appriciate the more or less anti government sentiment Flags of our Fathers has in the way it treated its “heros”.
The film was advertised as a very RAW RAW America type of film which I think people are sick of now. But I saw it with my brother in law (who is Japanese) and he and I both very much enjoyed.
