Krazy for the Kreme

As we have already heard here, Krispy Kreme has opened in Tokyo.

Now thanks to alert Japundit reader Mr. Pink(who says he was just walking past and would not admit he was there for a doughnut), here is a look at the people lined up waiting to get into Krispy Kreme’s brand new Tokyo shop.

Krispy Kreme Krazy

Let’s wait to see how many people will be lined up there in another month or two. . .

Oh! Well, it’s Christmas and all that, but from what I’ve heard they should go to Mr Donut if at all. Doubt that a couple Krispy Kremes will kill any one but not to be made a habit of. Even some commenter on some previous blog I did said they failed even in Canada–because people don’t mind a joke for a while but after it starts killing them they say put a stop to it. I think you will get many comments on this–people seem to be very particular about their donuts and hamburgers. Well, I think it’s a good idea to keep tabs on them but pretty sure they should be linining up somewhere else–say especially today at KFC?

I’m guessing the back half of the line doesn’t even know what they’ve lined up for. Reminds me of the elderly woman who bought Windows 2000 even though she did not know what Windows 2000 was and did not own a computer. But she saw people lining up, so she figured it must be good.

Ok I’ll say what we’re all thinking: THIS MAKES NO SENSE! How is it possible that in the land of SUSHI, the land of Ikizukuri (sashimi), the land of Yoshinoya, of 3 minute U-don and of Soba and Izakaya…

HOW is it possible that people are lining up for THIS? Good lord oh mighty!

They got nothing on Stan’s in Westwood, near UCLA. Or for that matter, the Beard Papa’s that opened up a little while ago in LA’s little Little Tokyo, Sawtelle.

Mr. Pink Said:

No, really. I’ll admit I sniffed a bit as I walked by, but I did not inhale…

Bruce_A Said:

Heh.

Beard Papa is the bomb. We found one at the Marukai on Redondo Beach Blvd down in … Gardena? Then one day we went to the Nijiya on Sawtelle and there was this nice, newly opened Beard Papa.

They really are the best. There’s nothing quite like a freshly made cream puff, with nice crisp choux and a rich luscious pudding…

Damn, now I’ve made myself hungry. I wonder if they’re open on Christmas?
