well Alex, I find this rather disturbing.

    *Let’s do a hypothetical*.

would you be happy to see your kids wander around the precint wearing that? - answer - NO.

I’m about as open-minded as you can get - (I think).

Let’s draw some lines in the sand here.

    (to a Japanese mother who understands/speaks/writes/translates english…it’s simply insulting)…(Arden)

I also find it sad that parents would allow their child to wear such a thing. And I think its important to post because it says a lot about stupid people putting cool before common sense.

People really need to be aware of what their clothes say. There is a similar problem in North America with people who have kanji characters but can’t read them. That is equally stupid!

I think this picture is a VERY strong statment that people should put common sense before fashion.

Thanx,Alex!..(Arden wandered off waving arms vigouresly…breaking chinaware!)..saying things like those “damned Japundit-Men they are a lost cause”..

She may have a point with us Japundit-men being lost causes! :)

But the point is the parent is highly unlikely to be making any sort of statement with this. The child’s wearing it, most likely, because the parent hasn’t the foggiest what it says.

Plus, Alex being an English native speaker (and excuse me for speaking for you Alex), he would be almost certain not to allow any child of his to go out wearing this, so that analogy doesn’t really have any relevance.

Alex - she doesn’t have a point - she just intensely dislikes western men (and parental values) accompanied by more dish breaking/door slamming/floor stomping/anger

Overoften, I often wish you WOULD speak for me more often. Your far more elequent than I.

Something else I just thought about in the above photo. Those cloths were not made for just one kid. Which means there’s a good 10,000 units of this being sold. Does the company producing that not realize what they are doing? Does no one in the company know what this means?

How does something like that get to market??

Well, on the one hand, you’d imagine that a word as common in the English-speaking world as ‘fuck’ couldn’t possibly go unnoticed.

But then I can imagine a western factory owner telling a designer to “just stick a few Chinese-looking characters on there and print a couple of thousand”.

So although it’s highly offensive, it shouldn’t really be any more surprising than the t-shirt I have that promises “a scart neo-ganesis century”. (Any clues, by the way, gratefully received.)

Mind you, it also has the graphic of an extended middle finger too, doesn’t it? That’s universally understood, isn’t it? Seems then that someone along the line knew. To put that knowingly on children’s clothes… Hmmm.

Easy Alex..first you learn a few Mersey-ssippi Delta toons..(and just hum along)..overoften, will love you for that..and periodically yell out Kuraouchi!Kuraouchi!..up the Kop!!

but spare a thought for the ever struggling.

of course we don’t have quite as much okane as Liverpool, but it matters not, at least we are below the fabled Burberry Line,

I’m sure that overoften could write volumes on that topic.

so many words - so little content (JP)? ..why?..(and that is straight from Arden).

she has never been able to understand why North Americans expend 10 minutes belaboring a 30 second commercial - (the average length of a Japanese advert).

I would have thought that the middle finger was indeed universal… So is the word ‘fuck’ as I’ve experienced by drunk salarymen in Shinjuku…

So yeah.. Beats me how this god made! :)

Alex: I’ll share this little snippet with you - about 5 years ago - in my wife’s hometown (not bloody Shinjuku!) - walking back to to the casa - late afternoon - a snotty,grotty,buck-toothed little high school droog circled me on a pushbike..yelling out “ghetto-fug”..”ghetto-fug”..
well Arden tracked down this nasty little piece of slime who happened to be the spawn of my wife’s female schoolchum …(many apologies ensued + blows to the head & body and balls).

    North Americans?

    Are those just the natives?

Or every person of every color and culture who was born in the geographical area known as North America?

    Does it include recent immigrants?

Does it include Japanese people currently residing in North America?

Does it include people who once lived in North America but no longer do?

    Paucity of content, indeed!

the differential of possibilities! - diamondback.

I am sure that you have all the answers - but certainly no detectable Pun-Capacity - (JAPAN-wise)

should you disagree - I would be only to happy to meet you on a relevant field of “Pun-Duel”- (at dawn).

after all, this is called Japundit - and I can’t recall any of your recent Puns.

(furthermore)..diamondback..do I get sensitive when in Japan I am referred to as an ignorant outlander??

nah!! - (I’m paying the bills) - so in effect - I have the last word.

although, its rather humorous to think that they think, that they are calling the shots.

    When they’re not.
