Another Reason to Hate Roppongi

If you’ve been to Tokyo, you’ve probably passed by or heard of Roppongi District. It’s known as “Gaijin Town” because its the area of Tokyo where gaijins (foreigners) are plentiful and everything from American and European Bars and restaurants to clubs can be found.
I hate Roppongi for many reasons. I feel ‘icky’ just being there.
Maybe its because it is where gaijin shmucks go to because they think that’s the place to go to if you want to meet a Japanese girl.
Maybe its because there’s tons of American Army wankers hanging around there being loud and stupid.
Indeed. There are many reasons. This video HERE by Rob Pongi however is one more example of why I hate the area… Because people like him show up and produce videos like that.
I rather enjoy Rob’s work…his website has a very good varitey of videos, from comedy to culture and travel. Sure, comedy is his mainstay, but his does good work in many areas. See for yourselves!

yeah I agree. that’s awesome. he’s just having fun. Nothin wrong with Roppongi - the club Yellow is one of the best in town.
February 8th, 2007 at 2:37 pmI have to agree with alexpappas, the ‘Pongi a dump. I spent my ‘formative’ years away from Japan, missed the bubble, and still find it disgusting, vile and ‘icky’, was it?
On the other hand, it is a place where a foreigner can ’score’ relatively easy, so if that’s what you want, go.
I’ll continue to hang out with the ‘oyaji’ in Shinbashi! You know, the girls aren’t bad there, either;-)
February 8th, 2007 at 3:35 pmBefore my trip, I told myself, “Don’t go to Roppongi… Don’t go to Roppongi… Don’t go to Roppongi…” Unfortunately, I ended up going with a Japanese girl and an American man. Actually, the people I went with were really good people… Too bad I can’t say the same for the rest of the people I saw there. I hate Roppongi; I love Asakusa!
February 8th, 2007 at 10:01 pmIn the light of all the “gaijins are bad” discussion going on here lately…
It’s people like these:

that make these, look bad:

You really can’t blame the Japanese for having their opinions sometimes…
February 9th, 2007 at 6:39 amSome of my favorite places are in Roppongi. There are many bars in the area, and only a minority of them cater to foreigners. That said, it’s an easy place to be as a foreigner. Enjoy it for what it is. Where else can I be accosted by a Chinese hooker, a Brazilian transsexual and an Australian stripper all before my first Starbucks in the morning?
February 9th, 2007 at 9:20 amI can’t stand Roppongi, went there once and that was enough… bunch of desperate gaijin lookin for some easy poon, and like wise desperate and easy Japanese girls go for some gaijin bang-bang if you know what I mean… its gross its pretty much one big meat market, I’ve got a friend who goes all the time because she’s in love with the military men… I tell her that all they want is to get in your pants, she knows but still goes and does who knows what with GI Joe… scummy people just gravitate towards Roppongi for some reason? anyone know why?
