Greenpeace doesn’t seem too ‘peaceful’
02/14/2007 @ 12:00 pm

Members of the environmental group Greenpeace wearing a whale outfit and a mask of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe denounce commercial whaling before a three-day controversial whaling conference in Tokyo.
Japan was holding talks with dozens of countries to plot the future of the global whaling body, but most Western states boycotted the meeting as a charade aimed at resuming commercial hunting.(Photo courtesy of AFP/Toru Yamanaka)
Stupid. This will not change anything, or cause anyone to think in new ways. You have no idea how quickly the Japanese can tune this kind of crap out when they see it.
February 14th, 2007 at 4:25 pmAh but I’m not japanese and this keeps this fresh in my mind.
February 14th, 2007 at 6:24 pmWow, I had no idea that wearing a (photoshopped?) mask & costume was considered violent.
February 14th, 2007 at 7:13 pmYeah, I know, you just copied the text from an unattributed source and slapped on your own headline; it’s not your fault it doesn’t make sense.
Dear anonymous, as you notice above the source of the photo is CLEARLY marked. And the headline does make sense because Greenpeace’s recent activities which I am sure everyone is familiar with by now have not been peaceful.
I took the liberty of researching the definition of peaceful. Here it is:
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/peaceful
You will notice that it says QUOTE: not argumentative, quarrelsome, or hostile.
That sure doesn’t seem like what Greenpeace is doing to me. So before you post some ridiculous message as the one you posted, be sure your clear on the messaging first. And by the way, your post is NOT as anonymous as you think you are… Just FYI.
February 14th, 2007 at 9:25 pmWell, there’s little point in responding if you keep editing your response after the fact.
February 15th, 2007 at 2:09 pmAnd I’m not under the impression that I’m any more anonymous than you are.
I have not edited my responses. -sigh…
February 15th, 2007 at 9:29 pmThen again there is this definition:
“devoid of violence or force”
http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/peaceful
And I think it is entirely appropriate to point out when a government is doing what the Japanese government is doing.
Anyone can help end whaling…
whales.greenpeace.org
…peacefully
February 16th, 2007 at 4:36 amI agree that I have not seen Greenpeace throw any grenades so far at anyone
Would make great YouTube Videos I imagine!
February 16th, 2007 at 5:00 amPeter - “tune this…”
So true! - the filter factor is in place 24/7.
(they couldn’t give a toss - that’s glaringly, blair-nly,eye-glazingly obvious).
