North Korea is said to be appealing to the United Nations to investigate human rights violations of Korean residents living in Japan, according to the official Korean Central News Agency.
“The DPRK permanent representative at the United Nations sent letters to the U.N. secretary general and the president of the U.N. General Assembly on July 6 as regards the Japanese authorities’ evermore pronounced suppression of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon),” KCNA said.

North Korea has more than 250,000 citizens locked up in horrible labor camps for political reasons. Some of them had just committed minor offense or been critical against Kim Jong Il regime. Many of them should be complete innocent. They will hardly survive at the camps.
Even there are some discriminations against Korean ethnic in Japan, it’s so ridiculous that DPRK regime utters the words “human rights”. How will U.N. respond to it ?
In last couples of years the Korea Japan succor World Cup and late Korean Drama boom has mitigated the discriminations.
Well, of course. NK wants to be certain that their expat citizens are being properly tortured even in Japan. Who better to confirm that than the UN human rights council leaders (Sudan, Cuba, etc.)?
“They will hardly survive at the camps” - It’s a near certainty Tofu-U..when they are too worn out to work anymore, their organs will probably be harvested for Patriotic Donation or Export to foreign buyers.
*Copying their PLA colleagues north of the Border*.
