Feel the burn!!
Sales of the “Billy’s Boot Camp” video, which was reported on here by overoften a short while back, recently surpassed the 1-million mark in Japan according to Oak Lawn Marketing, Inc., which owns Shop Japan.
Total sales of the DVDs, priced at 14,700 yen per set, have reached approximately 15 billion yen. The DVD series was first released in Japan in July last year and gradually increased sales from January this year.
Sales rocketed after Billy Blanks, the American inventor of the exercises, visited Japan in June to promote the DVDs.
On a side note, I have often wondered about the name of Oak Lawn Marketing, because I grew up in a suburb of Chicago called Oak Lawn, Illinois. A quick search on the Web has revealed that Robert W. Roche, founder and president of Oak Lawn Marketing is, indeed, from Oak Lawn, Illinois, which I guess makes us kind of acorns from the same tree.
