Nipon Television (NTV) has announced the end of its Omoikkiri TV daytime show, hosted by the ubiquitous (on Japanese TV) Mino Monta, at the end of its 20th year on the air.

For those who think that this will mean a little less of Mino Monta on Japanese TV have another think coming, for the show slated to replace Omoikkiri TV also will be hosted by him.

I stand by my long-held belief that there are only five or ten pop stars of the moment who appear on all of the TV shows, dramas, and commercials on Japanese TV.
