Heatwave!

NHK just announced that officials are blaming the current heat wave in Japan for 56 deaths, with more than half of them occurring during the past two days.

As you know, on 16th August the heat hit the highest record in Japan with 40.9 ℃ in Gigu and Saitama. We are afraid that 40 ℃ will be normal in mid summer in the future.

The news said lately the ice in north pole became the smallest size, which is much smaller than the anticipation. The ice increases in winter and decreases in summer in north and south pole. In summer the ice cools the pole areas, when it melts. If the ice in north pole completely disappears in the future, it will be much hotter in the summer.

This makes me think of buying a countryseat in Nagano or Hokkaido. Near Canadian Ricky’s or Yoho national park, it should be much comfortable in summer. Shall I dare to visit Vancouver Olympic 2010 to check whether its winter climate is tough or not ?
