Pocky-fy

Last year we noted that Snapple had picked up on Itoen’s healthy tea marketing campaign.

I’m thinking that the junk food industry is following suit, by introducing these “candy sticks,” which I’ve now spotted for sale in a few stores. Here, for example, is a shot of “Butterfinger Stixx,” which look to me as though they’ve been Pockyfied. How long till we get dried squid? At least for gourmet cat treats?
I actually think the product is coming out of the new trend for packaging junk food in ‘100 calories or less’ servings. One of these boxes only contains 102grams of actual product in those six sticks(versus a regular bar that’s 60grams) but will cost a lot more than even two bars of the regular size.
The gimmick is being aimed at weight-conscious females who apparently can’t figure out how costly this is or how to simply cut a regular bar in two or three pieces.
Of course, having typed that, I admit to buying on a couple of occasions some of those 100-calories-or-less Aero bars or Cadbury chocolate. Not that it helped - I just ate two at a time :::sigh:::
