KFC chickens out of Japanese market

KFC in JapanForbes is reporting that Kentucky Fried Chicken Corporate Holdings Ltd. of the US is planning sell its entire 31% stake in Kentucky Fried Chicken Japan to its Japanese partner, Mitsubishi Corp. This will give Mitsubishi control of the fried chicken chain in Japan with 62% of the stock.

I wonder how long it will take for the menu to change. . .

It is funny though that Yum brands is quickly becoming the fastest growing brand in China where a KFC is opening every day, yet failing in Japan. I guess that their yakitori chicken balls taste better than the Colonel’s breaded breasts. Then again being number one in the fastest growing asian economy guarantees a good stock pick. at least for now. Long story short is Japan lost out on flavor but their hearts, arteries, and veins are rejoicing.

Bojangles is way better than KFC, but they don’t even have that outside of the South, much less in Japan.
