A Little Compare and Contrast

A little off-topic, but interesting, I think. Let’s hear it for the stereotypes about repressed Asians.
A Chinese official’s wife uses a press conference intended to announce some aspect of the 2008 Olympic Games to instead tell everyone of her husband’s infidelity.
Silda Spitzer stands by her man.
Nice contrast. Spitzer seems like a really nasty piece of work - I hope his wife bails on him.
So far as the Chinese women - they can be scary. I know one guy who was followed into his office by his former mistress, who then disrobed down to her underwear in front of everyone, all the while denouncing him for being so cheap in his final payment. Yes, mistresses expect to be bought off when they are dumped - and it ain’t cheap. They figure they have only so many years of beauty, so they make sure they are compensated for time spent.
And that’s all before having to deal with wife.
March 14th, 2008 at 10:02 amI can’t fathom these women who stand by their man when the ratfink has been cheating on them, repeatedly. If you look at the Clinton’s, clearly there is a deal made and that is not a marraige. My sympathies go out to women who suffer from a husband who is unfaithful. I agree with ghoti, I hope Spitzer’s wife bails on him.
March 14th, 2008 at 9:49 pmWell, as they always say, it’s tough to know what is going on inside a marriage. I understood why Spitzer’s wife was next to him during the first press conference. It was torture to see her there during the second. But she must have been somewhat in a daze, I should think.
The Chinese video is horrifyingly interesting. The husband just stands there, completely unable to react. It’s up to the other handlers to try to get the wife off the stage, and she just gamely keeps speaking out against the decline of Chinese values. She was ballsy, I’ll give her that.

That’s for sure. I’m still trying to figure my own out.
