Well, placenta from sheep and other animals is pretty well worldwide. Not particular to Japan in any way.
More recently, I was asked to promote human placenta - from China, no less.
Human placenta may not be uniquely Chinese either. But, knowing the standards one can expect from Chinese suppliers, I could only wonder how the placentas are obtained. Maybe the 50,000 forced abortions in one small town of a million, Linyi, in Shandong Province were to help local industry?
By the way, interesting that Mr. Levenstein runs 3 placenta product adverts on his site. None from Japan.
C’mon ghoti, you know how Google Adsense works, don’t you? I don’t run the ads, Google does. I therefore encourage Nihon Sofuten to “get with the program” and buy some ads :o)
I know how it works, but it puts you in an odd position. Not to mention, it makes it obvious that this is widespread. The placenta craze, I think, started in Switzerland. It’s little noticed that, in terms of weirdness, the Swiss beat the Japanese hands down.
My reply to each of the 4 sentences in your last comment is “Huh??”. Especially the last one.
Well, you got me there. I can’t argue with “huh.”
Look, I like your blog - just not the placenta article.
Let’s see you say “huh” to that.
