hehe, funny. But I guess in this case it’s a case of useing german instead of english as ‘textual art’ as mentioned in the post on ‘engrish’ a couple of weeks ago.

‘gesmack’ is ‘taste’ in german and smack on is own is akin to ‘tang’ as in ‘Es hat ein bischen Fischsmack’ which would be ‘It has a slight tang of fish’

Actually, I like the cat-nip explanation better.
