Chinese foot binding

We all have heard of how foot binding was (and apparently still is in some areas) practiced in China, but these are the first photos I have ever seen of this gruesome practice.

July 19th, 2008 at 6:31 amUgh, just horrible. Immobilizing females by some gruesome disfigurement to the feet/legs. One of the worst aspects of any culture. It don’t care whats socially or religiously acceptable, thats totally inhumane.
Good post though. Lets us know that these things still exist to protest.

Also, this puts things in perspective. I won’t be complaining anymore after sitting Indian style for a little too long while sitting at a Japanese table.
