Some time around next week, we will be implementing a number of major changes here at JAPUNDIT.

This blog, will be moved to a subdomain (blog.japundit.com), where it will continue to be maintained more or less in its current form. However, I personally no longer will be striving to maintain the activity of the blog by posting according to a regular schedule throughout the day. Instead, I will add new posts to the blog as things come up, rather than hunting down material to fill a regularly scheduled posting slot.

The japundit.com URL will change to a social bookmarking site, similar (but not identical) to what we are doing over at Japan News Junkie (japannewsjunkie.com). The Japan News Junkie database (existing stories, comments, membership) will be ported over to japundit.com. In effect, Japan News Junkie will become the new JAPUNDIT, and Japan News Junkie in its current form will be discontinued.

Since the new JAPUNDIT site will be a social bookmarking site, members of the community will responsible for site content and activity rather than relying upon a small group of contributors for posts. The new JAPUNDIT will feature an all-new professional design that maintains the JAPUNDIT look and the blog design also will be modified to match.

In order to pull all of this off, JAPUNDIT will go off line for a few hours next week, after which it will reappear in its new form. As I said, the blog will be maintained, but under the URL blog.japundit.com.

We will try to provide everyone with as much advance warning as possible before we pull the trigger on this.
